Nonprofit CFO / Controller Recruiting Denver

Nonprofit CFOs/Controllers build and manage effective administrative/financial systems within a nonprofit organization.  They define the most suitable process for development, and implement the infrastructure and systems needed to support organizational growth.  Nonprofit CFOs/Controllers are involved in strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives.
CFOs/Controllers have a variety of responsibilities, which may include:
Financial Management
  • Reviewing and approving preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics
  • Overseeing budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new sites
  • Managing, hiring, and retaining financial support staff as needed
  • Coordinating all audit activities
 Administrative Leadership and Management
  • Serving as a business partner to the ED on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes, with a focus on continuously developing and improving systems
  • Leading IT staff to design and implement a future IT plan
Nonprofit CFOs/Controllers are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, and Finance, though an MA/MBA is preferred.  Generally they have 5-8 years of professional experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
