Job Overview

Revenue Accountants engage in accounting services regarding revenue resulting from Exploration and Production or Gathering business. They manage and monitor client accounts, and see that royalties, production taxes, and amounts due to joint interest owners are properly paid.  Additionally, Revenue Accountants ensure that volumes and prices received are accurate, and reported.  They may also collaborate with the marketing department to create ways to increase the company’s overall revenue intake.

Revenue Accountants are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, and a CPA is preferred.  Previous Oil and Gas experience is also necessary; Revenue Accountants must understand industry issues and documents such as well profitability, and lease operating statements.  Advanced level proficiency in Oil and Gas systems software is also beneficial to the Revenue Accountant.
