60 Denver Event Workers Hired by J. Kent Staffing for the Annual 9 NEWS Parade of Lights
The spectacular 39th Annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights is a two-mile parade route in Downtown Denver. Downtown Denver Events, Inc. (DDE) is the Downtown Denver Partnership’s charitable 501 (c) (3) that organizes the parade every year. This is one of Denver, Colorado’s most illuminating holiday traditions. Most importantly it is free to the public and features marching bands, ornate floats, and, of course, a special appearance by Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa!
J. Kent Staffing Managers Executed Staffing Activities Working in Cross-Functional Teams
The 2013 Parade of Lights took place on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday Dec. 7, two frosty nights with temperatures in the single digits. J. Kent’s Recruiting team knew that the weather would be challenging and affect the recruiting process. Hiring 60 Denver Event Workers for 4 different shifts was the recruiting target.
In the end our J. Kent Recruiters did an amazing job. The staffing team created a recruiting and staffing plan, and cross-functional teams were identified and assigned required staffing activities in order for J. Kent to meet its staffing deadlines and goals.
J. Kent’s Denver Event Workers Have Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees & Great Attitude
The Denver Event Workers hired by J. Kent’s Staffing Managers presented with a broad range of degrees, experience and backgrounds. Many of our project staff were employed and looking to work this fun event to earn extra Christmas money, others were between jobs, and some had just moved to the city.
Educational backgrounds included undergraduate and master degrees in Philosophy, English, Social Work, Psychology, Exercise Science, Political Science, Accounting, International Business, Engineering, Chemistry and Project Management. No matter the degree, they all had the skills and attributes we were seeking: bright, eager, personable, great attitude, good communication skills, and ability to relate to people, patience, reliable, dependable, and honest work ethic, and clean, neat, professional appearance.
