Position Overview

Six month temporary assignment, interviewing & hiring ASAP.  Could be a foot in the door opportunity for the right candidate!  Due to workload of a small team, this company is seeking a dynamic "go-getter" to get them caught up. Employee would be responsible for ensuring that all medical practitioners are certified under Medicare/Medicaid in order to collect for services provided by all physicians. 

Requirements

Education, Certifications & Experience

  • High School Degree required, Bachelor's strongly preferred

Computer Skills

  • MS Office software required
  • Skilled in word processing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have experience in working with Medicare & Medicaid, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Two years' administrative office experience, preferably in a medical setting involving regulatory compliance and complex detail

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares applications and associated paperwork required in accordance with Medicare/Medicaid procedures for number assignment/affiliation.
  • Reports discrepancies to practice agreement tracking data base administrator.
  • Researches rejected claims to determine if a UPIN has been inactivated; reissues applications to practitioners to reactivate numbers.
  • Follows up with Medicare/Medicaid regarding number/affiliation assignments and/or to research regulatory issues.
  • Gathers, stores, analyzes, reports and tracks UPIN information utilizing Access and Excel computer data base; ensures data base is maintained and updated to meet information needs and incorporates technology to support efficiencies for practitioners and internal customers.
