Bachelor in Architecture and a Tough Year for College Graduates

For college graduates, 2008 was a tough year.  2009 however, was even tougher.  In December of 2009, Seth graduated with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and he also made the Dean’s List. Unfortunately, in 2010 jobs were difficult to come by, and competition for the few professional architecture jobs available for recent college was fierce or non-existent.

Great Computer Skills, Great Attitude Give You Running Start

Fortunately Seth had great computer skills and a great attitude, and this was recognized by J. Kent when he applied for temporary employment.  He was soon hired by J. Kent Staffing to execute a temporary assignment for one of J. Kent’s non-profit clients as a Data Entry Clerk.  His performance review was excellent.

Seth’s next assignment with J. Kent Staffing introduced him to our client, who was undertaking a major building and restoration project.   Our client interviewed 6 candidates for the 4 month commitment to perform Administrative Assistance work in support of the project.  Seth made the cut and J. Kent hired him for the project. This temporary assignment, with temp-to-hire possibilities, was a perfect fit for someone with a degree in Architecture
