More than 2 years ago J. Kent’s client, a Denver based manufacturer of precast concrete, eliminated their Denver Human Resource Manager position due to a tough economy. However in Q4, the company experienced an increased demand for their customized, concrete products, and more field staff was required to meet contract demands. Executive Officers, splitting the responsibilities of the position during this period were being challenged by their own workload and the additional HR accountability.

Conclusion: The organization’s President/CEO determined that it was time to make that tough “new hire” business decision, and add an experienced Human Resource Manager to the staff and to the company’s 2012 budget.

Our client was looking for an experienced Human Resource Manager with a Bachelor’s Degree, excellent MS Office skills and 5-7 years of a solid HR Generalist background to originate and lead this small company (75 employees) in their human resources practices and objectives. The Denver human resource job, reporting directly to the President, was responsible for the overall implementation, administration and management of human resource policies, procedures and programs. Although safety of the Denver manufacturer’s workforce is always a primary objective, the new Human Resource Manager would also work towards on-going employee development that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance.
