J. Kent Staffing Hires 5 Temp-to-Hire Program Assistants for Educational Nonprofit
Jason, Hunter, Isabel, Dakota, Trent
Program Assistants
J. Kent Staffing’s long-time client is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to teach children financial literacy through real-life experiences and hands-on programs.
During the pandemic, they had to furlough and lay off most of their staff since their in-person programs were unable to take place. Fortunately, with the start of the 2021/2022 school year, they were back in full swing. However, the candidate shortage made it difficult to hire the number of Program Assistants that they needed to run their elementary and middle school programs. They were able to hire back some of their previous employees, but most had moved on to other jobs.
J. Kent Staffing had hired 6 Program Assistants for this same nonprofit in the Fall of 2019, so was already familiar and well-versed with this position. Our Recruiters quickly identified five highly qualified, energetic, personable candidates who were excited to start these temp-to-hire opportunities.
Meet J. Kent’s team of Program Assistants (pictured from left to right):
Jason: A Colorado native, Jason received his BFA from CU-Boulder with a concentration in Acting. Jason is a kid at heart and loves working with youth. He aspires to work in a teaching capacity outside of a traditional classroom setting. You can also see Jason’s acting skills if you attend Murder Mystery Theatre!
Hunter: An avid historian, writer, and self-proclaimed “techie”, Hunter has an eclectic array of interests and passions. He is currently working towards completing his BA in Elementary Education with aspirations of becoming a 3rd or 4th-grade teacher.
Isabel: Fluent in Spanish, Isabel grew up in Denver and received her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from a university in Montreal, Canada. In recent years she has studied and worked in Colombia and Puerto Rico but has since returned to Colorado. Isabel has quite a bit of classroom experience and is excited to combine her passion for both teaching and nonprofits.
Dakota: Born and raised in Tennessee, Dakota received his BA in History from nearby University of Northern Alabama. Throughout high school and college, he volunteered for a nonprofit that helped raise money for cancer patients and their treatments. Dakota really enjoys working with kids and they just gravitate towards his positive and upbeat personality!
Trent: A summer camp volunteer for 8 years through high school and college, Trent has great experience working with kids. He received his BS in Marketing and Advertising in 2020 from Grand Canyon University and is excited to be working with kids again in a teaching environment.
