Ara came to J. Kent Staffing to rekindle a dream.
After receiving bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Denver in International Politics and Conflict Resolution, Ara had to set aside her plans to enter the nonprofit sector to support her family through the Great Recession. Over 15 years, Ara’s professional journey working for engineering firms, universities, and tech start-ups allowed her to build an impressive portfolio of skills in fundraising, customer service, and administrative and legal support.
After being laid off by a struggling tech startup, Ara turned to J. Kent Staffing to search for work with a purpose again.
In Ara’s initial conversation with J. Kent Staffing, she shared her passion for transitioning her career into the nonprofit sector which was near and dear to her heart. In her spare time, Ara had founded and continues to run a cooperative disability household in Northwest Denver. With an intentionally intersectional focus, she strives to support local members of the LBGTQIA community who live with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Ara’s goal was to find a position that would be flexible enough to allow her to continue with this venture.
Ara’s J. Kent Recruiter was not only able to find her a placement, but managed to match Ara with her dream job, administratively supporting a local nonprofit that works to eliminate hygiene poverty in Colorado.
